The harvesting season for Kharif crops is underway across many states, and farmers are preparing to sell their produce. In light of this, the state government has extended the registration date for farmers who want to sell their paddy, jowar (sorghum), and millet at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). The new deadline is now October 14, 2024, giving farmers extra time to register. Initially, the registration deadline was set for October 4, 2024, but the extension aims to ensure more farmers can benefit from MSP.

In Madhya Pradesh, registration for selling paddy, jowar, and millet at MSP for the Kharif marketing season 2024-25 began on September 19. Farmers can now register until October 14, 2024. Both free and paid registration options are available, allowing farmers to choose the method that suits them best. It is important to note that once the deadline passes, farmers will not be able to sell their crops at MSP. Farmers should take advantage of this extended period to register and secure the MSP benefit for their crops.
Farmers who wish to register for free can do so using their mobile phones or at various government centers. Free registration can be completed at:
These centers offer a straightforward and convenient way for farmers to complete the registration process at no cost.
Farmers who prefer to register through paid services can visit MP Online Kiosks, Common Service Centers, Public Service Centers, or private cyber cafes. The fee for paid registration is capped at ₹50. For successful registration, farmers must provide land-related documents, Aadhaar cards, and other photo IDs for verification purposes.
Special provisions have been made for Sikmi (sharecroppers), Kotwar, and forest leasehold farmers. They can register only at centers managed by cooperative societies and marketing institutions. The Revenue Department will ensure 100% verification of these farmers during registration.
Aadhaar number verification is required for all farmers to register and sell their crops. This can be done through an OTP sent to the mobile number linked to the Aadhaar card or using a biometric device. For successful registration, the name on the farmer's land records and Aadhaar card must match. If there is any mismatch, the registration will need to be verified at the Tehsil office before it is considered valid.
As of September 28, 2024, around 1.95 lakh farmers have already registered to sell their crops at MSP. Paddy will be delivered to rice millers from the procurement centers at the committee level, ensuring timely milling and reduced transportation costs. The Central Government has set June 2025 as the deadline for paddy milling, while warehouse centers will be established to facilitate quicker payments and reduced logistics expenses.

Registration for selling soybean crops at MSP will continue until October 20, 2024, with purchases starting on October 25 and running until December 31, 2024. A total of 1,400 procurement centers will be set up for soybeans, with a target of purchasing 13.68 lakh metric tonnes of the crop. If soybean purchases exceed this target, the state government will step in to buy the excess produce at MSP.
The central government has announced the MSP rates for Kharif crops for the 2024-25 season.
Farmers are encouraged to register before the deadline and ensure they receive fair prices for their crops through the MSP program.
