Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a meeting with farmer leaders in New Delhi. The goal was to address key issues affecting the agriculture sector and to strengthen the connection between farmers and the government.

Leaders from various farmer organizations, including Rampal Singh, head of the Kisan Mahapanchayat, participated in the discussion. They shared their concerns and suggestions on how to improve the agricultural sector.
One of the key topics discussed was the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (crop insurance scheme). Chouhan reassured the farmers that their concerns about the scheme would be taken seriously. He emphasized that participation in this scheme should remain voluntary for all farmers.

Chouhan expressed his deep satisfaction in working for the welfare of farmers, calling it a form of devotion. He promised that both the central and state governments would continue to address the needs of farmers, ensuring their voices are heard and their issues resolved.
Rampal Singh, head of the Kisan Mahapanchayat, praised the government’s efforts to keep farmers at the center of their policies. He welcomed the flexible approach of the Krishi Vikas Yojana, which allows states to adapt the scheme to their specific agricultural needs.
Chouhan reaffirmed his commitment to the farming community, emphasizing that ongoing discussions will help find solutions to the issues farmers face. The government aims to improve the livelihoods of farmers and strengthen the agriculture sector through such constructive engagements.
