In a bid to bolster agricultural productivity and support farmers, the government of Jharkhand has introduced the CM Tractor Distribution Scheme for 2024. This initiative aims to provide significant financial relief to farmers by offering tractors at highly subsidized rates.
Under this scheme, eligible farmers can avail themselves of a substantial 50% subsidy on the purchase of tractors. Moreover, farmers can also benefit from an 80% subsidy, up to a maximum of Rs 5 lakh, when purchasing a tractor along with two agricultural implements. This financial support is designed to ease the financial burden on farmers and encourage mechanization in agriculture.
A total of 1100 tractors have been allocated for distribution under this scheme. Farmers across the state are encouraged to seize this opportunity and apply promptly to secure a tractor at half the market price. The application deadline is set for 3 July 2024, emphasizing the importance of timely action.
The CM Tractor Distribution Scheme targets various segments of the farming community, including individual farmers, farmer groups, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), water panchayats, watershed committees, Lamps, PACS, and other recognized farmer organizations. To qualify, applicants must possess a valid license to operate a tractor and own a minimum of 10 acres of cultivable land.
To apply for the scheme, farmers need to prepare a set of essential documents, including:
These documents are necessary to verify the applicant's eligibility and facilitate the smooth processing of applications.
Farmers can obtain the application form free of cost from their local land conservation office during office hours (11 am to 4 pm). After filling out the form accurately, it must be submitted before the deadline mentioned earlier. District-level committees will review and approve applications, prioritizing candidates with the requisite land ownership and tractor-driving credentials. The involvement of local MLAs and district officials in the approval process ensures transparency and efficiency.
