Farmers across the country who are currently sowing wheat, gram, and other Rabi crops can now secure their crops under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). The scheme compensates farmers for crop losses caused by natural disasters and other risks. The government has started the process of crop insurance registration for the Rabi season 2024-25, and farmers can get their crops insured until 31 December 2024.

According to officials in Madhya Pradesh's Katni district, the premium rates and compensation for various Rabi crops under the PMFBY are as follows:
Farmers need to pay only 1.5% of the total insured amount as a premium for cereals, pulses, and oilseed crops.
To get their Rabi crops insured, farmers need to submit the following documents:
Farmers should apply for crop insurance before 31 December 2024.
