What Is the E-Mandi Platform?

The E-mandi platform will digitize the entire process of selling crops, including gate passes, auctions, and payments. This means farmers can sell their crops directly from home, reducing their reliance on traditional markets.

How Will It Work?

  • Online Auctions: Traders can bid for crops through the platform without being physically present.
  • E-Payments: Payments will be processed online, ensuring quicker and more transparent transactions.
  • Digital Mandis: Local markets will be upgraded with technology to support the platform.

Learning from Madhya Pradesh’s Success

A team of Rajasthan officials will study similar platforms like e-Anujya and Farmgate in Madhya Pradesh. Based on their findings, they will adapt and implement the system in Rajasthan.

Benefits for Farmers and Traders

  1. Better Prices: Farmers can choose the highest bidder from any mandi in the state.
  2. Convenience: Selling from home saves time and effort.
  3. Transparency: Digital records will reduce irregularities in market operations.
  4. Flexibility: Farmers can decide where to sell based on crop demand.

Current MSP Crop Purchase in Rajasthan

Farmers can already register online to sell crops at minimum support price (MSP) purchase centers. For this year’s Kharif season:

  • Moong MSP: ₹8,682 per quintal.
  • Groundnut MSP: ₹6,783 per quintal.

What’s Next?

The platform is expected to roll out soon, with officials fine-tuning it to benefit both farmers and traders. By digitizing mandis, Rajasthan aims to modernize agriculture and empower its farmers.
