What is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi?

The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was launched on February 24, 2019, by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. The scheme is fully funded by the Government of India and aims to support small and marginal farmers. So far, 18 installments have been credited to the accounts of eligible farmers. The previous (18th) installment was released in October 2024, and the 19th installment is likely to be credited in February 2025.

Although no official announcement has been made yet, there are speculation that the installment could be released on February 28, as past installments have followed some similar timelines.

Who is Eligible for the Scheme?

Not all farmers qualify for the benefits under this scheme. Here are the key eligibility criteria:

  • Only small and marginal farmers can avail of the benefits.
  • Government employees and income tax payers are not eligible.
  • Only one member per family can receive the benefits.

Farmers must also complete their formal registration and mandatory e-KYC process. Failure to do so may result in delayed or forfeited installments.

Farmer Registry Campaign Extended Until January 31, 2025

To ensure all eligible farmers can avail of the scheme, a Farmer Registry campaign is underway. This registry is part of the Agristack initiative, which aims to digitize Indian agriculture. The campaign allows farmers to update their information, including land records, crop details, and Aadhaar-linked data.

While the initial deadline for farmer registration was December 31, 2024, states like Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have extended the campaign until January 31, 2025. Farmers can complete their registration online or by visiting Jan Suvidha Kendras or government-organized camps in villages.

Benefits of Farmer Registry

The Farmer Registry has several advantages, including:

  • Seamless access to government schemes like PM Kisan, crop insurance, and loans under the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) program.
  • A centralized database of farmers land records and other vital details.
  • Farmers will no longer need to complete the e-KYC process repeatedly for government schemes.

  • Aadhaar card
  • Mobile number linked to Aadhaar
  • Land ownership records (e.g., Khatauni, Khasra)

Farmers facing issues with the PM Kisan Yojana can seek help through:

  • Helpline numbers: 155261, 1800115526 (toll-free), or 011-23381092
  • Email: pmkisan-ict@gov.in

Completing these mandatory tasks will ensure farmers do not miss out on the benefits of the upcoming 19th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
