The state government has made it mandatory for all ration card holders to complete their e-KYC to ensure that only eligible individuals receive benefits under the National Food Security Scheme. Failure to do so by the deadline will result in the stoppage of free ration services. Here's everything you need to know about the process and how to complete it.
The National Food Security Scheme provides free ration to poor and Below Poverty Line (BPL) families through ration cards. However, it has been observed that some financially stable individuals are also taking advantage of this scheme. To ensure that only the genuinely eligible people benefit from the scheme, the state government has made e-KYC mandatory for all ration card holders.
Once the e-KYC is done, ineligible individuals will be removed from the beneficiary list, and new deserving people will be added. It is important to note that e-KYC must be completed for each family member listed on the ration card.

The last date for completing e-KYC for ration cards is 31st October 2024. Ration card holders must ensure they complete the process before this date. If e-KYC is not done, the beneficiary’s name will be removed from the list, and they will no longer be eligible to receive free ration under the National Food Security Scheme.
According to the Rajasthan government, every individual receiving ration under this scheme must complete the e-KYC process for all family members listed on the ration card. Without it, the ration services will be stopped.
The Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Minister, Sumit Godara, recently announced that the deadline for e-KYC has been extended to 31st October 2024. This extension provides another opportunity for ration card holders to complete the necessary formalities.

According to reports, there is no fee for completing e-KYC under the National Food Security Scheme. This service is completely free for all citizens of the state.
To complete the e-KYC process, you need to visit your local ration dealer with your ration card and Aadhaar card. The process involves completing the thumb impression process at the ration shop. Once this is done, all your details will be submitted to the National Food Security Department, and eligible beneficiaries will continue receiving their ration benefits.
