What is the Scheme About?

Under the Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana Vistaar (MMGAY-E), BPL families in rural areas will be provided free residential plots. This scheme is an extension of the existing Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana. The government has allocated ₹2,950.86 crores for the project from 2024 to 2027.

The main goal is to provide land for housing construction to landless families, allowing them to have a permanent home in rural areas.

How Much Land Will Be Given?

The state government will offer plots of two sizes:

  • 50 square yards in Mahagram Panchayats
  • 100 square yards in General Panchayats

These plots will be allotted to eligible BPL families.

Low-Interest Loans for Building Homes

In addition to free plots, the government will also assist the beneficiaries in securing loans for building their houses. Through this scheme, the BPL plot holders can get low-interest loans of up to ₹6 lakh from nationalized banks, housing finance companies, and microfinance institutions.

Who is Eligible for Free Plots?

To qualify for this scheme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a native of Haryana
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Should not already own a plot or have benefited from any other government housing scheme
  • Family’s annual income should not exceed ₹1.80 lakh
  • BPL families from both rural and urban areas are eligible

How to Apply for a Free Plot?

If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply by visiting the official website of the scheme: https://hfa.haryana.gov.in. A Family Identity Card is also required for the registration. You can also get more information by calling 0172-3520001.

The Application Process

Once you apply, the concerned department will verify your eligibility. If you qualify, you will receive a plot after paying a nominal fee of ₹1000. A possession letter will also be issued, granting you the legal rights and authority over the plot.

If the physical possession of the plot is delayed beyond two years, the government will also provide compensation.

CMV360 Says

The Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana Vistaar (MMGAY-E) is a great opportunity for BPL families in Haryana to secure land and build homes. By providing free plots and affordable loans, the state government aims to uplift economically weaker sections and improve their living conditions.
