Names of Beneficiaries Removed from Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana List: Know the Reason

Key Highlights

  • Financial aid for housing under PMAY for urban and rural areas.
  • Some beneficiaries in Rajasthan were removed from the PMAY Gramin list.
  • Complaints can be lodged at local, block, and district levels.
  • An online complaint option is available through the official PMAY website.
  • Eligibility includes no pucca house, income between ₹3-6 lakh, and BPL status.

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is a significant government scheme designed to provide financial assistance to people for building or buying a house. It targets the economically weaker sections in both rural and urban areas. However, recently, some beneficiaries in Negadiya Panchayat of Asind Tehsil, Bhilwara, Rajasthan, have reported that their names were unjustly removed from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin list.

What Happened in Bhilwara?

According to the villagers, 51 families, who were initially deemed eligible, have now been removed from the list. These families, who claim to meet all the eligibility criteria, have been protesting against the removal of their names. They believe the Panchayat Secretary and Sarpanch are involved in this action. Many are upset, as they believe they rightfully deserve the Rural Housing Scheme benefits.

If your name has been unjustly removed from the PMAY list, here’s how you can check and lodge a complaint.

How to Check Your Name in the PMAY Beneficiary List

You can check whether your name is still listed in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin beneficiary list online by following these simple steps:

  1. Visit the official PMAY Gramin website: Go to pmayg.nic.in.
  2. Access the Reports Section: Click on the Awassoft option from the top menu bar, and then select Report from the drop-down.
  3. Navigate to the Social Audit Reports: You will be redirected to another page. Here, select Beneficiary Details for Verification under the Social Audit Reports (H) section.
  4. Select your area: On the next page, select your State, District, Block, and Village from the options provided. In the benefits section, choose Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
  5. Submit the form: Enter the captcha code and hit the Submit button. The beneficiary list for your village will appear, and you can check if your name is on it.

What to Do if Your Name is Removed?

If you meet all the eligibility requirements for PMAY but still find your name missing from the list, there are several ways you can raise a complaint:

  1. Visit Local Authorities: You can register your complaint at the Gram Panchayat, Block, District, or State levels.
  2. Contact Officials: If the local authorities still need to resolve your issue, reach out to the Housing Assistant or the Block Development Officer (BDO).
  3. Online Complaint: File a complaint online by visiting the official PMAY Gramin website. The complaint will be resolved within 45 days of submission.
  4. Helpline Number: The PMAY helpline is available on the website, where you can also lodge your complaint via phone.

Eligibility Criteria for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana

To be eligible for PMAY, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of India.
  • They should possess a nomination form.
  • The annual income should be between ₹3 lakh and ₹6 lakh.
  • The applicant’s name should be listed in the BPL category or on the ration card.
  • The applicant must not already own a pucca (permanent) house.
