The Madhya Pradesh government has announced a major update to the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana, empowering women. Under this scheme, women will now receive financial benefits even after turning 60 years old. This decision aims to provide lifelong support to women, ensuring they can meet their needs during old age.

The Ladli Behna Yojana is now to be aligned with the central government's scheme, Atal Pension Yojana. That is, if a woman gets enrolled in Ladli Behna Yojana, she would be able to get the monetary benefits after her 60th birthday. Its objective is that women will not only become financially independent but will also remain independent throughout their life.
Currently, the Ladli Behna Yojana offers ₹1,250 every month to eligible women. Now, with this update, women will also get a pension between ₹1,000 and ₹5,000 per month after they turn 60.
The Ladli Behna Yojana beneficiaries of the state government of Madhya Pradesh will be connected to the Atal Pension Yojana. Thus, they can receive pensions after 60 by paying a small premium. The premium amount will automatically be deducted from the ₹1,250 being paid to them under the Ladli Behna Yojana.
It is being tested at the moment in Seoni district, where over 11,000 women have already shown interest by filling up forms. If it works well, then the scheme will be implemented all over the state.

The state government, under Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, is closely monitoring the pilot project in Seoni. If successful, the scheme will be expanded statewide, benefiting lakhs of women. This initiative, named Mission Jeevan Paryant, aims to provide lifelong financial security to women in Madhya Pradesh.
Women interested in joining the Atal Pension Yojana can contact their local authorities or visit the nearest government office. The process is simple, and no separate premium payment is required.
This decision is a step forward in empowering women and ensuring their financial independence. With the Ladli Behna Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana working together, women in Madhya Pradesh can look forward to a secure and self-reliant future.
