The Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana, a popular initiative aimed at empowering women in Madhya Pradesh, has reached its 20th installment. This time, however, over 1.63 lakh women did not receive the benefits due to eligibility criteria changes, reducing the total beneficiaries to 1.26 crore.

Initially, 1.29 crore women were eligible for the scheme, but due to revised criteria, the count has decreased by 2.63 lakh women since its inception.

Why Over 2 Lakh Women Were Removed from the Scheme

The Ladli Behna Yojana is designed to provide financial support to women aged 21 to 60 years. Women aged over 60 years were excluded from the beneficiary list, leading to the removal of 1.63 lakh names.

This decline follows a pattern observed during the 19th installment in December 2024, when 1.28 crore women received benefits. In total, 2.63 lakh women have been deemed ineligible since the scheme's launch.

How to Check if Your 20th Installment Has Been Credited

If you're a beneficiary, here’s how you can check the status of your installment:

1. Visit the Official Website: Go to cmladlibahna.mp.gov.in.
2. Navigate to Payment Status: Click on "Application and Payment Status" on the homepage.
3. Enter Details: Input your application number or member serial number, captcha code, and verify via OTP sent to your registered mobile.
4. Check Status: After verification, click "Search" to view your payment status.

Eligibility Criteria for Ladli Behna Yojana

To qualify for the scheme, women must meet the following criteria:

• Be a resident of Madhya Pradesh, born between January 1, 1963, and January 1, 2000.
• Be a widow, divorced, or abandoned woman or belong to a family with an annual income of ₹2.5 lakh or less.
• The family should not own more than 5 acres of land or a four-wheeler (except a tractor).
• No family member should hold a government job or pay income tax.
• Women receiving less than ₹1,250 per month from other pension schemes will receive the difference through Ladli Behna Yojana.

Impact of Ladli Behna Yojana on Women

Launched in 2023, the Ladli Behna Yojana has provided significant financial assistance to eligible women. The first installment of ₹1,000 was disbursed in June 2023, and it was later increased to ₹1,250 per month during Raksha Bandhan 2023.

So far, 20 installments have been issued, and the scheme has enabled women to receive ₹15,000 annually. Additional benefits, such as two ₹250 bonuses, were distributed in August 2023 and 2024.

Next Installment Schedule

The 21st installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana is expected in February 2025, continuing the government's effort to support women in Madhya Pradesh.
