The state government has launched a major initiative to support farmers by distributing 4,000 tractors and over 1,000 pieces of agricultural equipment. This effort is part of the Chief Minister Tractor Distribution Scheme, also known as PM Kisan Tractor Yojana 2024 or Krishi Yantra Anudan Yojana. The government plans to invest Rs 150 crore in this program to help boost agricultural productivity.
Farmers participating in the Chief Minister Tractor Distribution Scheme will receive up to 80 percent subsidy on the tractors and equipment. Specifically, the Agriculture Department will distribute 2,450 large tractors and 1,550 small tractors. Tractors with 34 to 40 horsepower will be provided. Additionally, farmers will get two types of agricultural equipment with their tractors.
To be eligible for the scheme, farmers must own at least 10 acres of land. Priority will be given to those who possess a tractor or LMV (light motor vehicle) driving license. Beneficiary groups will also be considered.
