The Indian government has given the thumbs up for the production of 'Nano Urea Plus,' a groundbreaking liquid fertilizer developed by IFFCO, a cooperative giant. This approval signals a significant move towards enhancing crop growth, particularly during crucial developmental phases.
Nano Urea Plus stands out as an innovative agricultural solution tailored to meet the precise needs of crops during critical growth stages. With a liquid formulation boasting 16 percent nitrogen content and a pH value ranging from 4 to 8.5, this fertilizer aims to boost soil health and increase farmers' profits while prioritizing environmental sustainability.

U S Awasthi, Managing Director and CEO of IFFCO praised Nano Urea Plus as a game-changer in crop nutrition. It surpasses conventional urea and other nitrogenous fertilizers by not only fulfilling crop nitrogen requirements but also improving micronutrient availability and efficiency. Additionally, it acts as a chlorophyll charger, boosting yields and supporting climate-smart farming practices.
Nano Urea Plus builds upon the success of its predecessor, Nano Urea, which utilizes nanotechnology to deliver nitrogen to plants effectively. With particle sizes ranging from 20 to 50 nanometers, Nano Urea offers increased surface area and particle count compared to traditional urea prills. This innovative approach enhances nutrient availability to crops by over 80 percent, significantly improving Nutrient Use Efficiency (NUE).
IFFCO's venture into nanotechnology-based agricultural solutions began with the launch of the world's first 'Nano liquid urea' fertilizer in June 2021, followed by 'Nano DAP' fertilizer in April 2023. These initiatives underscore IFFCO's dedication to driving agricultural innovation and fostering sustainable farming practices.
