Pump sets play a crucial role in agricultural irrigation by drawing water from wells, ponds, or other water storage sources. This water is then transported through pipes to irrigate crops, facilitating efficient agricultural practices. There are two main types of pump sets: diesel and electric, each serving specific needs and coming in varying prices.
The state government is providing substantial subsidies ranging from 40% to 55% on irrigation equipment. Notably, a 55% subsidy is extended to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Extremely Backward Classes, and small and marginal farmers. General category farmers are eligible for a 40% subsidy on pump sets, making this scheme inclusive and beneficial for various farming communities.

Various schemes, such as the National Mission on Edible Oil Oilseeds, Food and Nutrition Security Pulses, and the special package for pulses in Bundelkhand, provide subsidies on pipeline and diesel/electric pump sets. Eligible farmers are encouraged to apply for these subsidies to enhance their agricultural practices and productivity.
