The High-Level Committee (HLC), led by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, approved the release of the funds. This financial assistance is expected to speed up the repair of rural infrastructure in the affected regions.
The compensation amount has been divided among the five states as follows:
Andhra Pradesh: ₹608.08 crore
Tripura: ₹288.93 crore
Odisha: ₹255.24 crore
Telangana: ₹231.75 crore
Nagaland: ₹170.99 crore
This allocation will be adjusted against 50% of the initial balance in the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) of each state.
