The Bihar government has announced its budget for the financial year 2025–26, introducing several schemes for farmers. One key highlight is the plan to set up 35,000 private tube wells across the state, with subsidies provided according to government rules. This initiative aims to improve farmers' irrigation facilities and boost agricultural productivity.
Apart from this, the budget includes several other beneficial schemes for farmers, such as:
Purchase of crops like tur, moong, and urad at the minimum support price (MSP).
Establish cold storage facilities in all subdivisions and blocks.
The Tarkari Sudha outlets are being opened in all blocks.
Launch of Bihar Food Processing Policy 2025.
Setting up of a Center of Excellence for jaggery production.
Installation of solar power plants along canals.
Formation of the Bihar Green Development Fund.

Bihar Millet Mission: To promote millet cultivation and improve agricultural growth.
Centers of Excellence: Establishment of research centers for mango, mushroom, tomato, potato, onion, and betel in different districts.
Climate-Resilient Agriculture Programme: 190 villages will be developed as model agricultural villages.
Doorstep Veterinary Service: Mobile veterinary units will be introduced in all 534 blocks of the state.
Samagra Gavya Vikas Yojana: Dairy units with high-breed milch cattle will be set up to increase farmers’ income and generate self-employment opportunities.
Expansion of Sudha Milk Marketing Centers: More Sudha milk outlets will be established in all blocks.
Centre of Excellence for Jaggery: A special research and training center will be set up in Pusa, Samastipur.
Subsidy for Women Drivers: Women will receive cash subsidies for purchasing e-rickshaws and two-wheelers.
Housing for Women Constables: The government will provide rental housing near police stations for women constables.
Religious Tourism Scheme: Special tourism programs will be launched during festivals like Chhath Puja.
Employment for Women: Training programs will be introduced for women to become tourist guides.
Kanya Vivaah Mandap: Community wedding halls for underprivileged girls will be built in every Panchayat.
Pink Toilets in Cities: Dedicated toilet facilities for women will be set up in all cities.
Women’s Gym and Gym on Wheels: A gym with female trainers will be set up in Patna, along with a mobile gym service.
Hostels for Working Women: Hostels will be established in major cities to accommodate working women.

Under the Mukhyamantri Niji Nalkoop Yojana, the Bihar government is providing subsidies to farmers to install boring motor pumps for irrigation. This scheme is part of the Saat Nischay Part-2 initiative to ensure irrigation water for every field.
Farmers can get a subsidy of 50% to 80% based on their category.
Subsidy is provided for boring up to 15 to 70 meters deep and motor pumps ranging from 2 to 5 horsepower.
General category farmers receive a 50% subsidy, while backward classes get up to 70%.
Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) farmers are eligible for up to 80% subsidy.

The Bihar government has allocated a total budget of ₹3,16,895 crore, which is ₹38,169 crore more than the previous year. The highest expenditure will be on education, health, road construction, rural development, and agriculture.
These initiatives aim to improve infrastructure, boost agricultural productivity, and provide better facilities for farmers and women in Bihar.
