The comprehensive training program will give training on drone operation and also focuses on utilizing unmanned aerial vehicles for the efficient sprinkling of nano urea and DAP in fields.
The government has launched a new program empowering women farmers through the use of cutting-edge drone technology for precise application of nano urea and D-ammonia phosphate (DAP) in agricultural fields. The initiative, housed at the newly established drone training centre within the Cooperative Rural Development Trust (CORDET) at IFFCO in Phulpur, marks a significant leap towards enhancing farmers' income and revolutionizing crop production.
The ongoing efforts have already seen success, with 150 women farmers benefiting from specialized technical education on harnessing drone technology for nano urea application. The comprehensive training program will give training on drone operation and also focuses on utilizing unmanned aerial vehicles for the efficient sprinkling of nano urea and DAP in fields.
Officials from IFFCO reveal an ambitious strategic plan to procure 2500 drones, signalling a commitment to lead the adoption of nano fertilizers across the country. This substantial fleet will play a pivotal role in the first phase of a national campaign, benefiting 5000 farmers who will receive comprehensive training on drone utilization.
The newly acquired drones, tailored for DAP application, demonstrate versatility by meeting the standards of both industrial applications and agricultural requirements. With their capabilities, they ensure rapid and efficient urea application across extensive agricultural areas, significantly reducing both time and effort.

CORDET Principal Harish Chandra claims the goal goes beyond simply increasing output. The initiative is dedicated to reducing farmers' reliance on chemical fertilizers by encouraging them to investigate alternative and sustainable agriculture practices. As a result, the training program encourages not just technological expertise but also eco-friendly and sustainable farming approaches.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently engaged in a virtual call with a woman farmer getting training at CORDET, emphasizing the initiative's convergence with the Prime Minister's Bharat Sankalp Yatra. These pioneering activities demonstrate the government's commitment to empowering women in agriculture and supporting sustainable farming techniques.
The women farmers leading this initiative are not just pioneers in drone technology but are at the forefront of a sustainable agricultural revolution. Their active involvement demonstrates the importance of drone technology in the agriculture sector.
As the program gains momentum, it holds the promise of improving yields and farmers' income and fostering a more sustainable and environmentally conscious approach to agriculture across the nation. The women farmers, trained with drone technology basics, will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of agriculture in the country.
This initiative's accomplishment represents a significant step in achieving the goals of greater agricultural productivity, farmer income source, and environmental sustainability. As the farmers are getting enrolled in this initiative, it is set to have a long-term impact on the country's agricultural environment, bringing in a new era of precision agriculture and sustainable methods.
