PM Kusum Yojana, or Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthan Mahabhiyan, is a government initiative designed to help farmers with the installation of solar pumps in their fields. The scheme provides financial support, allowing farmers to install solar pumps by paying just 10% of the total cost. For farmers belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Vantangiya, and Musahar communities, the subsidy can go up to 100%.
Under the PM Kusum Yojana, the central government offers a 30% subsidy, while the state government provides an additional subsidy. For SC/ST farmers and certain other categories, the state government provides a 70% subsidy, totaling 100% support. Farmers from other categories receive a combined 90% subsidy, with 60% from the state and 30% from the central government.
