The purchase of paddy will begin on December 2, 2024, till January 20, 2025. Farmers should take note of these dates to ensure they can sell their crops at the MSP.
The state government has released a new procurement policy for paddy, jowar, and bajra. Under this policy, all purchases will be made according to the MSP rates fixed by the central government.
Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput emphasized that officials are instructed to follow the procurement rules strictly. Action will be taken against anyone found neglecting their duties during the procurement process.
Procurement centers will be set up in convenient locations for farmers, preferably at warehouses or camps. If these are not available, alternative locations such as committees or other levels may be used. The state government will decide the centers based on the previous year’s data and the areas where crops have been sown.
The procurement will be carried out by cooperative societies, self-help groups, and other trusted organizations that are eligible to handle the process.
For paddy, 46% of old jute bags and 54% of new jute bags will be used. For Jowar and Bajra, new bags will be used for packaging.
The following Minimum Support Prices (MSP) have been set for the crops:
Farmers must register online at www.mpeuparjan.nic.in to select the procurement center and schedule a sale date. After registering, they will receive an SMS and notification on their mobile phone confirming the details.
For any issues with registration or procurement, farmers can call the control room at 0755-2551471. This service will be available from 9 am to 7 pm during the procurement period.
