Mahindra Tractors has introduced its first-ever CBG-powered (Compressed Bio-Gas) Yuvo Tech+ tractor, marking a major step towards eco-friendly farming. The showcase event, held in New Delhi on September 2, 2024, was graced by Nitin Gadkari, the Minister of Road Transport and Highways, underscoring the government’s focus on promoting green technology in agriculture.
Mahindra Tractors, a leading name in the agricultural sector, continues its push towards sustainable technology with the launch of its new CBG-powered tractor. This innovation promises to reduce carbon emissions while maintaining the power and performance needed for modern farming. The CBG-powered tractor is part of Mahindra's broader vision to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and introduce greener alternatives to the Indian agricultural market.
Compressed Bio-Gas is a renewable energy source created from biodegradable materials like farm waste and food waste. Unlike traditional fossil fuel-based compressed natural gas (CNG), CBG is eco-friendly, and renewable, and reduces the agricultural sector’s carbon footprint. By adopting CBG technology, Mahindra is supporting farmers in switching to cleaner energy sources while maintaining high operational efficiency.
The Mahindra Yuvo Tech+ CBG tractor offers the same power and performance as conventional diesel-powered tractors. This ensures that farmers can complete heavy-duty tasks like farming and haulage without compromising on efficiency. The tractor meets all Indian standards and has been designed to operate under strict environmental norms.
Mahindra’s CBG-powered tractor is expected to bring significant benefits to both the farming community and the environment. The reduction in emissions and pollutants aligns with the global push for greener energy solutions in agriculture. Additionally, the switch to renewable energy like CBG can help farmers reduce their fuel costs over time.
Over the past few years, Mahindra has showcased various alternate fuel-powered tractors, including CNG, LPG, and dual-fuel models. This latest launch of the CBG-powered Yuvo Tech+ tractor demonstrates Mahindra’s commitment to driving positive change in the agricultural sector by introducing sustainable products that benefit farmers and the planet.

The introduction of Mahindra’s first CBG-powered tractor is a milestone in the journey toward greener agriculture in India. With the government’s support and Mahindra’s dedication to innovation, this launch could lead to the widespread adoption of eco-friendly practices across the country, benefiting both the environment and the farming community.
