A significant update is on the horizon for LPG consumers, impacting their access to gas cylinders and subsidies. Additionally, the subsidy on LPG cylinders will be discontinued. The Ministry of Petroleum and Gas has issued directives regarding this change.

Initially set for December 31, 2023, the deadline for e-KYC has been extended to May 31, 2024. To continue benefiting from uninterrupted LPG cylinder services, consumers are requested to promptly initiate the e-KYC process.
To fulfill the e-KYC requirement, LPG connection holders must undergo biometric authentication. This requires presenting their Aadhaar card and gas passbook at the respective agency office. The e-KYC process is conducted between 10 am and 5 pm.
Consumers have the option to complete the e-KYC process either offline or online. For offline processing, individuals must visit the agency office where they obtained the LPG connection. Online e-KYC facilities are available via mobile apps and official websites of Indian Oil, Bharat Gas, and HP Gas companies. For Bharat Gas consumers, the online process involves:
Adhering to these steps ensures the completion of the e-KYC process for LPG cylinders, facilitating continued access to gas services.
