The Jharkhand government took a significant step towards reducing the financial stress on farmers by introducing the Jharkhand Krishi Rin Mafi Yojana. Launched on February 1, 2021, this initiative aims to ease the burden of agricultural loans for farmers in the state.
The scheme specifically targets those farmers who find themselves unable to repay their loans, offering financial support by waiving outstanding loan amounts up to Rs. 50,000 per farmer.
The main goal of this scheme is to provide relief to farmers struggling with loan payments. It targets short-term loan-holding farmers in Jharkhand, aiming to enhance their eligibility for crop loans, control migration, and strengthen the agricultural economy.
Online Implementation
The scheme operates through a dedicated web portal, making the process streamlined and contact-minimized.
Documentation
Banks upload Kisan Credit Card(KCC) loan details, including Aadhaar and Ration Card information, on the loan waiver portal.
Loan Waiver Criteria
Crop loans taken until March 31, 2020, up to Rs. 50,000 in 'Standard Crop Loan' accounts, will be waived off.
Online Application
Farmers can apply online through Common Service Centres (CSC) and banks, ensuring a hassle-free experience.
Digital Disbursement
Loan repayment will be through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), simplifying the disbursement process.

To avail the benefits of the Krishi Rin Mafi Yojana loan waiver scheme, farmers must meet specific eligibility criteria outlined by the government. Here are the key eligibility requirements for the Jharkhand Krishi Rin Mafi Yojana:
Residency: Applicants must be permanent residents of Jharkhand to qualify for the loan waiver under the scheme.
Loan Source: Small and marginal farmers who have obtained loans through the Kisan Credit Card are eligible for the benefits of the scheme.
Cultivation Status: Eligibility extends to farmers who are either self-cultivating their land or those cultivating on leased land. This ensures that both landowners and tenant farmers can benefit from the loan waiver.
Age Criteria: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered eligible for the Jharkhand Krishi Rin Mafi Yojana.
Family Limit: The scheme allows only one farmer per family to avail of the loan waiver benefits, ensuring a fair distribution of assistance.
Loan Timeframe: The loan must have been availed from banks before March 31, 2020. Loans taken after this date may not be eligible for the scheme.
By adhering to these eligibility criteria, the Jharkhand government aims to target and assist those farmers who are genuinely in need of financial relief, fostering sustainable agricultural practices in the state.
The Jharkhand Krishi Rin Mafi Yojana is a crucial step by the government towards uplifting the farming community. By providing financial relief and simplifying the process through digital initiatives, the government aims to empower farmers for a sustainable future in Jharkhand's agriculture. This initiative supports individual farmers and contributes to the overall economic resilience of the state's agricultural sector.
