Under the Agricultural Machinery Subsidy Scheme, farmers are set to receive a significant subsidy on tractor-driven reaper machines. This initiative aims to support farmers during the ongoing harvest season, particularly for Rabi crops like wheat. The subsidy can cover up to 60% of the reaper machine's cost, lightening the financial load for farmers.

Farmers falling under various categories can avail different subsidy rates:
Reaper machines offer substantial advantages to farmers. By reducing time and labor, they enhance efficiency and productivity. With just one litre of diesel, these machines can harvest around one acre of crops in approximately 45 minutes, proving to be a cost-effective solution for farmers.
To apply for the reaper machine subsidy, farmers need to furnish several documents, including Aadhaar card, income certificate, residence certificate, caste certificate, bank account details, passbook copy, PAN card, proof of land ownership, and a registered mobile number linked to Aadhaar.
Farmers in Bihar can apply for the subsidy via the Agricultural Mechanization Scheme. Prior registration on the DBT Portal of the Agriculture Department, Bihar, is mandatory. Once registered, farmers can proceed with their application on the Agriculture Department's website. Applications will be considered only with a valid registration number from the DBT portal. The subsidy amount will be directly deducted from the equipment's price, and the remaining sum will be payable by the farmer. Subsequently, the grant will be transferred to the agricultural equipment manufacturer's account.
For more details and assistance regarding the online application process, farmers can contact their Block Agriculture Officer/Assistant Director (Agricultural Engineering) or District Agriculture Officer.
The Agricultural Machinery Subsidy Scheme endeavors to alleviate the financial strain on farmers and encourage the adoption of modern agricultural practices. By subsidizing reaper machines, the government aims to boost efficiency and productivity during crucial harvest seasons, thereby fostering overall growth in the agricultural sector.
