In a bid to support farmers, the state government is providing subsidies for setting up Custom Hiring Centers and buying related agricultural equipment. These centers aim to make expensive machinery accessible to all farmers, especially those facing financial limitations.
Under the agricultural mechanization scheme, the government has allocated a whopping Rs 82 crore 25 lakh for the fiscal year 2024-25. This money will be used to subsidize 75 different types of agricultural equipment. From ploughing to harvesting, a wide range of machinery is covered.

Interested farmers need to register on the DBT portal of the Agriculture Department, Bihar. Then, they can apply through the Agriculture Department's website starting April 5th. Applications will be selected through a lottery system, with permits issued immediately upon selection.
Progressive farmers, livelihood groups, village organizations, and cluster federations in Bihar can apply online. Once approved, farmers can buy the equipment from sellers, deducting the subsidy amount from the total price.
