Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann recently launched Sonalika Tractors grand expansion project in Hoshiarpur, Punjab. This expansion, worth INR 1300 crore, aims to boost Punjab's industrial sector.
Sonalika Tractors plans to invest INR 1000 crore in a new tractor assembly plant and an additional INR 300 crore in establishing a cutting-edge high-pressure foundry. These developments are set to make Hoshiarpur a key player in global manufacturing.
The new tractor assembly plant is expected to increase Sonalika's export capacity by adding 1 lakh tractors to its annual production. The high-pressure foundry, named DRAS, is designed to improve product quality and efficiency, meeting the standards of over 150 countries.
Dr Amrit Sagar Mittal, Vice Chairman of Sonalika Tractors, praised CM Mann for his support, highlighting the government's role in facilitating the expansion through its efficient single-window system. This collaboration between the government and private sector promotes industrial growth.
Akshay Sangwan, Director of Development & Commercial at Sonalika Tractors, discussed the technological advancements at the new casting plant. Equipped with German technology, the facility will enhance the quality of Sonalika's tractors, demonstrating the brand's commitment to innovation.
During his visit, CM Mann commended Sonalika's efficiency and its significant contribution to Punjab's industrial landscape. The plant's ability to produce a new tractor every two minutes showcases Sonalika's role in economic development. The inauguration of Sonalika's expansion project marks a milestone in Punjab's industrial growth, promising a brighter future for the region's economy.
