Key Highlights of the Scheme

The Vegetable Development Scheme offers support for farmers by providing:

  • Subsidies on Hybrid Vegetables: Farmers cultivating vegetables like broccoli, capsicum, tomato, cauliflower, eggplant, watermelon, and muskmelon can get up to 75% of the cultivation cost covered by the government.
  • Subsidies for Seed Distribution: Additionally, farmers growing vegetables such as pumpkin, amaranth, ladyfinger, chili, and onions also qualify for subsidies on seed distribution.
  • Cost Support: For instance, if the cost to grow a crop is ₹100, the government will provide ₹75, meaning farmers only need to cover the remaining ₹25 themselves.

Benefits and Eligibility Criteria

To benefit from this scheme, farmers need to provide land ownership documents. Acceptable documents include:

  1. Land ownership certificate
  2. Updated revenue receipts from the past two years
  3. Genealogy records or legal land ownership certificates

Non-Rayat farmers (those without land ownership) can also apply, provided they have an agreement with the landowner. The required agreement form is available for download on the official website.
