India's leading farm equipment and tractor manufacturer, VST Tillers & Tractors Ltd., disclosed a decline in total sales for January 2024. According to the company's sales report, a total of 4146 units, encompassing tractors and power tillers, were sold, reflecting a 3.71% decrease compared to the same period last year.
Tractor Sales Declines by 45.66%
VST recorded a sharp decline in tractor sales, selling only 326 units in January 2024 compared to 600 tractors sold in January 2023, a decline of 45.66%. This equates to 274 fewer tractors sold in January 2024 compared to the previous year.
Power Tiller Sales Show 3.07% Growth
However, power tiller sales witnessed a growth of 3.07% with VST selling 3820 units in January 2024 compared to 3706 units in January 2023.
While domestic tractor sales decreased, power tiller sales saw a modest increase. VST Tillers & Tractors should focus on strategic measures to address market dynamics and consumer preferences for sustained growth and competitiveness.

Yearly Sales Data Indicates a 4.87% Decline
VST Tillers & Tractors Ltd. records a 4.87% YoY decline in cumulative sales (tillers and tractors) for the period between April 2023 and January 2024. The decline indicates challenges in the agricultural machinery market. The company sold 32,963 units from April 2023 to January 2024, compared to 34,654 units in the same period last year.
VST's Year-to-Date (YTD) sales show a 1.4% drop in power tiller sales, selling 28,734 units in January 2024 compared to 29,142 units in January 2023. Tractor sales also declined significantly by 23.27%, with 4,229 units sold in January 2024, down from 5,512 units in January 2023.
