Eligibility Criteria for the UP Sponsorship Scheme

To be eligible for the sponsorship, children must meet at least one of the following conditions:

  1. Orphans or children whose parents cannot care for them.
  2. Children of divorced or separated mothers.
  3. Children whose parents are suffering from serious illnesses or are in prison.
  4. Children affected by natural disasters, child trafficking, or child marriage.
  5. Homeless or displaced children, or those with disabilities or missing.
  6. Children living on the streets.

Additionally, the income of the child's guardian should not exceed Rs 72,000 per year in rural areas and Rs 96,000 per year in urban areas. However, this income limit does not apply if both parents or the legal guardian have passed away.
