Mahindra & Mahindra leads tractor sales with 1.42 lakh units sold in four months, dominating India's competitive tractor market.

The tractor industry in India has witnessed robust sales over the past four months, with a total of 3.21 lakh tractor units sold from April to July 2024. Among the 13 tractor-selling companies, Mahindra & Mahindra emerged as the top choice for farmers, leading the sales chart.

July 2024 saw a slowdown in domestic tractor sales, with 59,530 units sold. This figure represents a significant drop compared to the previous months. Notably, sales in July were nearly half of those in June, indicating a sluggish month for the industry.

Despite the overall drop in July, Mahindra & Mahindra continued to dominate the market. The company sold 25,587 tractors in July, maintaining its position as the highest-selling tractor brand. Tafe Group followed with 10,284 units, while Sonalika secured third place with 7,493 units sold.

Sales Breakdown by Company

In July 2024, the 13 companies collectively sold 59,530 tractors. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the sales figures for some of the major players:

Smaller companies like CaptainPreet, Indo FarmVSTACE, and SDF together contributed around 1,600 units to the total sales.

April to July 2024

The cumulative sales from April to July 2024 highlight the strong performance of the tractor industry. A total of 3,21,390 tractors were sold during this period. The month-wise sales figures are as follows:

Mahindra & Mahindra: The Farmer’s First Choice

Mahindra & Mahindra has solidified its position as the preferred tractor brand for Indian farmers, with a total of 1,42,517 tractors sold between April and July 2024. Tafe Group and Sonalika followed with over 54,000 and 41,000 units sold, respectively.
