Farmers receive Rs 14.13 crore for sugarcane as Chhattisgarh's 2024–25 crushing season begins with timely payments and government support.
The sugarcane crushing season 2024–25 has begun in several states across India, with sugar mills actively purchasing sugarcane from farmers. The highlight of this season is the prompt payment being made to farmers, ensuring their satisfaction and financial stability.
In this context, the Bhoramdev Cooperative Sugar Factory Kawardha has already paid Rs 14.13 crore to farmers for the sugarcane sold during this season.

According to GS Sharma, the Managing Director of Bhoramdev Sugar Factory, the factory has crushed 1,09,175 metric tonnes of sugarcane so far this season, producing 94,270 quintals of sugar. This achievement is credited to the cooperation of farmers and efficient factory management.
Farmers in Chhattisgarh are being paid at a rate of Rs 315.10 per quintal for their sugarcane. The factory management has urged farmers to supply mature, clean, and undamaged sugarcane to improve the sugar recovery percentage, which directly benefits them.
