Tafe, a renowned leader in agricultural machinery, has taken a giant leap towards sustainable farming with the unveiling of two new products at the Agritechnica trade fair in Hannover, Germany. The company showcased its commitment to eco-friendly farming practices through the introduction of the E30 electric tractor and a hydrogen-powered concept tractor.
The star of the show, the E30, is a sleek black electric tractor that is set to revolutionize modern agriculture. With a planned release after the summer of 2024, Tafe enthusiasts and farmers alike can anticipate a powerful addition to their fleet.
The E30 is a compact 27-horsepower tractor equipped with a lithium-ion battery and a two-speed transmission, allowing it to smoothly transition from 0 to 10 km/h or 0 to 24 km/h.
One of the key features of the E30 is its impressive battery life. Capable of handling heavy tasks for up to 4 hours on a single charge, the tractor exhibits remarkable efficiency. For lighter duties, the E30 can operate continuously for 10 to 12 hours. Charging the electric tractor is very easy with the fast charger, which is capable of charging the entire battery in just one hour, whereas a standard charger takes five hours.
The electric motor, working similarly to the continuously variable transmission, sets the E30 apart in terms of performance and efficiency. The tractor is designed with user-friendly controls, featuring two pedals—one for forward and the other for reverse.
As Tafe gears up for the market release post-summer 2024, the pricing details for the E30 are yet to be revealed. However, the company's commitment to sustainability and innovation has already created a buzz within the farming community, sparking anticipation for the next evolution in agricultural technology.

The E30 not only represents a shift towards environmentally conscious farming practices but also demonstrates Tafe's dedication to providing cutting-edge solutions for the modern farmer.
Tafe also displayed a hydrogen-powered tractor with a 55 hp Simpson combustion engine alongside the electric invention. This larger tractor, however, is still a concept and is not for sale. The tractor is functioning, with hydrogen tanks strategically positioned behind the seat and under the platform floor.
The company is still at the cutting edge of disruptive agricultural technology. Tafe admitted that, while the tractor is functional, there are no imminent plans for commercialization due to a lack of appropriate infrastructure for hydrogen refueling.
