This year, due to insufficient rainfall, the Kharif crops of farmers in many regions have suffered significant damage. With rising financial pressure on farmers, the state government has stepped in to help. The Chief Minister announced a bonus of Rs 525 crore to assist farmers affected by the Kharif crop loss, which will be transferred directly to their bank accounts. Farmers will receive a bonus of Rs 2,000 per acre, offering some relief during these challenging times.
Farmers in areas that experienced low rainfall during May, June, and July are eligible for this bonus. In an effort to compensate for crop losses, the state government decided to grant Rs 2,000 per acre to eligible farmers. Even small farmers with less than one acre of land will receive the full bonus amount. However, only farmers registered on the Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal will be eligible for this benefit.
The bonus is not limited to just a few crops. Farmers growing paddy, maize, bajra, barley, peanuts, and other Kharif crops will be eligible for the Rs 2,000 per acre bonus. Additionally, fruit, flower, and vegetable crops are also included. This is the first time the government is extending the bonus beyond traditional crops like wheat and paddy to cover a wide range of Kharif crops.
