The Maharashtra government will release Rs 1500 in advance to Ladki Bahin Scheme beneficiaries before Diwali for financial support.
In a heartwarming move, the Maharashtra government has decided to release an advance installment of Rs 1500 for women beneficiaries under Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. With the festive season of Diwali just around the corner, this decision will help 2.20 crore women celebrate with joy and enthusiasm.

The decision comes due to the imposition of the election code of conduct ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections. The BJP-led state government has been committed to supporting women with financial aid through this scheme, launched on July 1, 2024. In total, three installments have already been released under this scheme, and now, the fourth and fifth installments will be combined and deposited before the festive season.
This move is seen as a proactive step to avoid any delays caused by the upcoming elections. The opposition has raised questions about the longevity of the scheme, but the Chief Minister has assured that this initiative will continue for the welfare of women, dismissing the claims that it is temporary.

Women aged between 21 and 65 years, including married, divorced, and widowed women, are eligible for the scheme if their family income is less than Rs 2.5 lakh per year. Each eligible woman receives Rs 1500 every month.
