Retail tractor sales in January 2025 reached 93,381 units, with Mahindra leading the market, followed by Swaraj and International Tractors.
The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has released the retail tractor sales data for January 2025, which shows a steady increase compared to January 2024. A total of 93,381 tractors were sold in January 2025, up from 88,741 units in the same month last year.

Mahindra & Mahindra retained its top position with 22,072 units sold, capturing a 23.64% market share. This increased from 20,492 units sold in January 2024 when the market share stood at 23.09%.
The Swaraj Division maintained a stable 18.56% market share, selling 17,332 units in January 2025 compared to 16,466 units in January 2024.
International Tractors Limited, the maker of Sonalika tractors sold 12,285 units, securing a 13.16% market share. This marks a slight rise from their 12.98% market share in January 2024.
TAFE Limited recorded sales of 10,834 units, accounting for 11.60% of the market. However, this represents a small decline from their 12.40% share in January 2024.
Escorts Kubota sold 9,123 units, holding a 9.77% market share. This is an increase from their 9.23% share in January 2024, reflecting steady growth.
John Deere showed an improvement, selling 6,641 units and securing a 7.11% market share compared to 6.46% in January 2024.
Eicher Tractors saw a slight dip, selling 5,960 units in January 2025, down from 6,230 units in January 2024, reducing its market share from 7.02% to 6.38%.
CNH Industrial, the makers of New Holland Tractors sold 4,011 units, holding a 4.30% market share, up from 3.95% in January 2024.
Kubota Agricultural Machinery India recorded sales of 1,631 units, with a 1.75% market share, slightly down from 1,738 units and a 1.96% share in January 2024.
Other tractor brands collectively sold 3,492 units, holding a 3.74% market share, a slight decline from 4.35% in January 2024.
The Indian tractor market continued its steady growth in January 2025, with Mahindra & Mahindra maintaining its leadership. While brands like Escorts Kubota and John Deere showed improvements, others like Eicher and Kubota faced slight market share declines. The overall rise in sales reflects the strong demand for tractors in India's agricultural sector.
