Rajasthan has presented its General Budget for 2024-25 in the Assembly. State Finance Minister Diya Kumari delivered the budget speech, highlighting various benefits for different sections of society. The budget includes significant announcements for farmers, women, youth, government employees, and more.
The budget promises 45,000 new agricultural connections for farmers. Additionally, farmers will receive daytime electricity for irrigation purposes.
Interest-free crop loans will be provided to farmers, easing their financial burdens and supporting their agriculture or agricultural activities.
To promote organic and traditional farming, the government will offer assistance to farmers.
Farmers will receive Rs 10,000 to produce manure from cow dung at the block level.
Agri Clinics will be established at every district headquarters to provide support and guidance to farmers.
A new insurance scheme for animal husbandry farmers, the CM Mangala Animal Insurance Scheme, will be launched.
An energy conservation mission will be introduced to promote sustainable farming practices.
Special Provisions for Women
Under the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, 15 lakh women in Rajasthan will be empowered to become "Lakhpati Didis," aiming for financial independence.
Two lakh self-help groups will be formed over the next five years, with 25,000 groups receiving initial funding of Rs 300 crore. Loans will be provided at an annual interest rate of 2.5 percent.
One thousand new Anganwadi centres will be opened, and gas connections will be provided to these centres to improve their functionality.
The budget includes plans to recruit over one lakh individuals, including 5,500 new posts in the Rajasthan Police and 1,500 traffic volunteers in major cities.
Under the Atal Udyam Yojana, young entrepreneurs will receive funding up to Rs 10 crore. Additionally, 20 new ITI institutes will be established.
33,000 students who excel in their 8th, 10th, and 12th board exams will be given tablets and free internet for three years. A new Maharana Pratap Sports University and divisional sports colleges will also be established. The budget proposes increasing the mess allowance for residential schools to Rs 3,000 and developing school infrastructure, including opening 50 new primary schools.
Beneficiaries of the weaker sections under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) will receive an additional grant of Rs 25,000. Pak refugees will get Rs 1 lakh per family for housing.
The Mukhyamantri Svanidhi Yojana will be launched, mirroring the PM Swanidhi Scheme, to support street vendors and others in cities and towns.
Pensioners will receive Rs 50,000 for treatment, and the gratuity limit will be raised to Rs 25 lakh. Six new trauma centers will be built, and those who help transport injured individuals to hospitals will receive a Rs 10,000 incentive.
Public transport services will be expanded in rural areas, and 100 villages will be developed under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana model. The budget also proposes a reduction in taxes on CNG and aviation fuel.
The Rajasthan Budget 2024-25 aims to provide comprehensive support across various sectors, with special attention to farmers and women, ensuring overall development and prosperity for the state.
