The government is running many helpful schemes for everyone, including farmers. One such scheme is the PM-Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme. This scheme allows you to get free electricity and even make money by selling extra electricity. Over one crore families have already registered for this scheme. Prime Minister Modi encourages everyone to sign up for it.
Registrations for PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Schemes are happening rapidly across the country. States like Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh have seen over 5 lakh registrations each.
Under this scheme, families will receive a subsidy on solar panels ranging from 1 kilowatt to 3 kilowatts. The subsidy varies depending on the size of the solar panel, with the maximum subsidy of Rs 78,000 for a three-kilowatt panel.
Beneficiaries will receive up to 300 units of free electricity. Additionally, they can earn extra income by selling excess electricity to DISCOM, earning up to Rs 15,000 annually.
The estimated cost for installing a one-kilowatt solar panel is Rs 95,000, while a two-kilowatt panel costs around Rs 1.20 lakh. For a three-kilowatt panel, the cost is approximately Rs 1.45 lakh.
Those who can't afford the upfront cost can avail bank loans. For example, for a three-kilowatt panel, one can get a loan of Rs 67,000 at a 7% interest rate.
To apply for the subsidy, visit the official website of the scheme or download the PM Surya Ghar app. Fill out the required form with accurate information. The subsidy will be transferred to your account within 30 days after installation.
By utilizing these resources, families across the country can benefit from free electricity and contribute to a greener environment.
