PM Modi will release the 17th installment of PM Kisan Yojana, providing financial aid to 9.3 crore farmers on June 18th.

The wait for farmers across India is finally over. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 17th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana on June 18th during a special program in Kashi (Varanasi), Uttar Pradesh.

PM Modi’s Program in Varanasi

On June 18th, PM Modi will visit Kashi to attend the Kisan Sammelan. During this event, he will transfer the 17th installment of the Samman Nidhi directly into the bank accounts of farmers. PM Modi will also visit the revered Baba Shri Kashi Vishwanath temple for worship and participate in the Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat.

Financial Assistance for Farmers

This time, approximately 9.3 crore farmers will receive Rs 2,000 each, amounting to a total distribution of Rs 20,000 crore. Since the launch of the scheme on February 24, 2019, the government has transferred over Rs 3 lakh crore to the accounts of more than 12 crore farmers in 16 installments.

Recent Developments

PM Modi took his oath for a third term on June 9, 2024. The very next day, he signed off on the distribution of the 17th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, ensuring that 9.3 crore farmers will receive financial support.

E-KYC Requirement

Farmers are now required to complete an e-KYC process to receive the funds. Those who missed out on the 16th installment due to incomplete e-KYC can receive both the 16th and 17th installments if they complete the process now. This step aims to enhance transparency in the scheme.

State-Specific Benefits

In Rajasthan, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has announced that farmers will receive Rs 8,000 annually under the PM Kisan Yojana. The central government will provide Rs 6,000, and the state will add Rs 2,000.

In Madhya Pradesh, farmers receive a total of Rs 12,000 annually through two schemesthe PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and the Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojanaeach contributing Rs 6,000. This increased support was approved in the 2023-24 financial year under former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s leadership.
