Agritechnica 2023 will be held from November 12-18 in Hanover, Germany. The firm will also announce the growth of the brand's alternative fuels product line.
New Holland Agriculture will present the latest T7 tractor family at Agritechnica 2023. Agritechnica 2023 will be held from November 12-18 in Hanover, Germany. The firm will also announce the growth of the brand's alternative fuels product line.
The new T7.270 Methane Power CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) tractor makes its global debut at the international show, bringing New Holland's alternative fuel technology up the power scale and making it available to a wider variety of potential purchasers.
The tractor is powered by a proven NEF 6.7-litre methane-fueled engine already installed in the T6.180 Methane Power tractor but with increased output to match the capabilities and performance expected from a T7 model tractor. It is based on the T7 with PLM Intelligence platform, with the latest Horizon Ultra cab.
The engine produces a maximum of 270hp under all situations and has a peak torque of 1,160Nm. According to New Holland, this is a new engine map that maximizes the performance that customers anticipate in this segment.
Greater productivity has been made feasible by the New Holland design team's efforts to maximize onboard gas storage by making full use of the T7's larger chassis.
The T7.270 CNG stores 178% more fuel than the T6.180 Methane Power (455 litres/79kg) with a capacity of 1,265 litres (219kg on board). As a result, the tractor is not only more powerful and capable of handling larger implements, but it can also work for many longer hours between refuelling breaks, thus boosting its productivity and range.
According to the firm, because methane is a cleaner-burning fuel, an SCR system is not necessary, freeing up room for fuel storage. Furthermore, the T7.270 Methane Power CNG can run on any type of methane or biomethane derived from cattle dung or slurry.

It will be an appropriate solution for biodigester owners who frequently operate a fleet of multiple haulage tractors. Furthermore, it is well-suited to the needs of larger-scale farms and contractors, as well as more sophisticated commercial enterprises that execute various applications with heavy-duty tools.
The new T7.270 Methane Power CNG also has a CVT (continuously variable gearbox), which provides a smoother driving experience while also consuming less gasoline. This tractor's CVT makes it especially ideal for trailers weighing more than 18 tonnes, which are often searching for this type of gearbox and more than 200hp.
The T7.270 Methane Power CNG differs from the diesel-powered T7.270 in a few ways. The design beneath the cab is drastically changed, with new cab supports and the batteries shifted to the left side to make space for a fuel tank. The award-winning Horizon Ultra cab is the quietest in the industry, with an internal noise level of at 66 decibels, decreasing operator fatigue and maximizing comfort.
The Horizon Ultra has 8% greater internal volume, allowing for more operator and storage space. The T7.270 Methane Power CNG, like other T7 models, benefits from New Holland's PLM Intelligence solutions, which integrate digital technologies to allow two-way transfer of machine and field data between the tractor and the MyPLMConnect online portal, allowing owners and managers to monitor machines and dealers to provide remote support with permission.
The first production T7.270 Methane Power CNG tractors are in the testing phase, with units available for purchase in the second half of 2024.
