Farmers and residents across India can rejoice as the much-awaited monsoon is here. After a scorching summer, the monsoon has entered many states and will soon cover the entire country. This year, the rains are expected to be more abundant than usual, which is excellent news for agriculture.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reports that the monsoon has already reached most parts of the country. Initially slow when it hit Kerala on June 4, the monsoon is now picking up speed. It has reached parts of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand. In the next few days, it will spread to Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh.
Over the next five days, the western coast, including Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, and Maharashtra, will experience continuous rain. Some areas might see light to moderate rain, while others could experience heavy downpours. Bihar, Jharkhand, and eastern Uttar Pradesh are expected to receive heavy rain from June 25 to 27. Delhi might see very light rain over the next six days.
According to Skymet Weather, the next 24 hours will bring moderate to heavy rains to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Kerala, Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, and parts of Gujarat. Light to moderate rains are expected in Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Lakshadweep, Odisha, Marathwada, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, southeast and eastern Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Uttarakhand. Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, and Vidarbha might also see light rain.
No heatwave conditions are expected in India for the next five days, except for possible heatwaves in parts of Punjab, Haryana, and western Uttar Pradesh on June 25 and 26. Delhi will not experience a heatwave, but humidity may cause discomfort.
Heavy rain is expected in Delhi on June 29, with cloudy skies in the meantime.
Temperatures in Jodhpur, Bikaner, and parts of Shekhawati might rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the next 72 hours, with some places experiencing heatwaves. Thunderstorms and rain are likely in Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions, with heavy rain in Udaipur and Kota divisions.
Sudden winds of 30 to 40 km/h with thunder or lightning may occur in Panchkula, Yamunanagar, and Ambala.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by strong winds of 40 to 60 km/h, may occur in several districts, including Agra, Aligarh, and Bareilly. Monsoon is expected to bring good rain to many districts, including Lucknow, from June 25.
Monsoon is active in 33 districts, bringing rain to many areas. It will cover the entire state in the next two to three days, reaching the Gwalior-Chambal division. Bhopal will see some rain on June 24, with good rain in Indore and Jabalpur. By June 27, most of the state will experience heavy rain and a drop in temperature.
Hot and humid weather will persist in the southern parts, including Patna. Light rain with thunder is expected in the northern parts. Monsoon will cover the entire state in three to four days, with an expected heatwave in Rohtas, Aurangabad, Bhojpur, and Arwal.
