Marut Drones Secures Patent for Multi-Nozzle Aerial Seed Dispensing Technology
A leading drone technology company, Marut Drones, has attained a remarkable feat by obtaining the world’s first patent for its novel method and system of dispersing multi-varied seeds through an innovative multi-nozzle aerial seed dispensing device. The patented technology, which is integrated into Marut’s direct seeding drone - AG365, consists of a sophisticated aerial seed dispensing device with five nozzles.
This state-of-the-art drone, which was developed in collaboration with Prof Jayashankar Telangana State Agriculture University, has received acclaim for its groundbreaking approach to seed distribution. The Indian Patent Office has awarded this patent for 20 years, starting from November 29, 2021, under the provisions of the Patents Act of 1970.
Marut Drones emphasized that the patent validates the effectiveness of its seeding drone, which underwent rigorous scientific verification by PJTSAU. Moreover, PJTSAU has issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the implementation of these drones in agricultural practices.
The Hyderabad-based startup is ready to promote the widespread adoption of its direct seeding drones, initially targeting rice cultivation and later expanding to other crops. The patented system enables the aerial dispersion of diverse rice seeds, enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of seed-sowing processes.
Prem Kumar Vislawath, Founder and CEO of Marut Drones, expressed confidence about the transformative impact of the patented technology on rice farming practices. He highlighted the numerous benefits offered by the seeding drone, including the elimination of traditional hurdles such as nursery time, transplantation, and skilled labour shortages. Vislawath pointed out that the adoption of Marut’s seeding drones allows paddy farmers to achieve remarkable reductions in water usage, up to 92%. Furthermore, it accelerates the return on investment and profitability timelines, significantly shortening them from three years to just one-and-a-half years.
The versatility of the seeding drone goes beyond seed dispersal, as it can also be used for spraying pesticides and fertilizers. This multifunctional functionality improves operational efficiency while reducing farmers’ exposure to harmful pesticides during pest outbreaks.
Marut Drones’ attainment of the world’s first patent for its innovative aerial seed dispensing technology represents a significant advancement in modern agriculture. With its potential to transform farming practices and contribute to agricultural development, this patented system initiates a new era of innovation and efficiency in the farming sector.
