What Did the Chief Minister Say?

CM Devendra Fadnavis explained that, just like in the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, some people who did not meet the criteria were initially included. When this issue was identified, the government corrected it. Fadnavis stated that if any woman under the Majhi Ladki Behan Yojana is found to be ineligible, her name may be removed. However, if a woman already receiving benefits meets the criteria, she will continue to receive the benefits.

Why Were Names Removed in Other Schemes?

In the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, which provides financial aid to farmers, many ineligible farmers were initially included. Once this was discovered, the government updated the rules and removed these farmers from the list. The same approach might be followed with the Majhi Ladki Behan Yojana if women do not meet the set eligibility conditions.

Will the Amount Increase?

Currently, the scheme provides Rs 1500 per month to eligible women. CM Fadnavis mentioned that while the government will continue providing the promised amount of Rs 2100 in the future, no immediate increase in the amount is expected. However, the government may consider this increase during the next budget session.

When Will the Next Installment Be Released?

The sixth installment of the Majhi Ladki Behan Yojana is expected to be released by December 25. Beneficiaries are eagerly awaiting the next round of payments.
