Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. continues strengthening its presence in domestic and international markets, with impressive tractor sales for September 2024. The company, a well-respected name in the Indian agricultural machinery industry, is known for its innovative tractor models that cater to the diverse needs of farmers.
In September 2024, Mahindra & Mahindra sold 43,201 tractors in India. This marks a 3% increase from the 42,034 units sold during the same period last year. The rise in sales is attributed to favorable monsoon rains, which were 7.5% above the Long Period Average (LPA). This boost in rainfall led to a successful Kharif season, with reservoir levels now 13% above LPA, setting the stage for a strong Rabi crop. These factors have created positive rural sentiments, resulting in increased tractor demand.
While domestic sales saw growth, export sales for Mahindra & Mahindra tractors experienced a slight decline. In September 2024, the company exported 1,055 units, representing a 10% decrease compared to 1,176 units exported in September 2023.
Overall, Mahindra & Mahindra sold 44,256 tractors in September 2024, a 2% increase from the 43,210 tractors sold in September 2023. The improved crop conditions for both the Kharif and Rabi seasons contributed to this growth in total sales.
Between April and September 2024, Mahindra & Mahindra sold a total of 2,14,849 tractors, showing a 5% growth compared to 2,05,070 units sold during the same period last year. Domestic sales stood at 2,06,236 units, a 4% increase, while exports saw a significant rise of 36%, with 8,613 units exported.
Looking ahead, Mahindra & Mahindra expect strong demand for tractors, thanks to favorable conditions for farmers and the upcoming festive season. With their latest models and cutting-edge technology, the company is helping to modernize Indian agriculture and make it more productive.
Mahindra & Mahindra continues to lead the Indian tractor market, delivering quality and innovation to farmers across the country.
