Mahindra's tractor sales grew 22% in December 2024, driven by strong domestic demand and favorable agricultural conditions.
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.'s Farm Equipment Sector (FES) has reported strong growth in tractor sales for December 2024. The company sold 22,019 tractors in the domestic market, up by 22% from the 18,028 units sold in December 2023.
Overall, Mahindra sold 22,943 tractors, including exports, in December 2024. This marks a 20% increase compared to the 19,138 tractors sold in the same month last year. However, export sales showed a slight drop, with 924 units sold in December 2024 compared to 1,110 units in December 2023, a decrease of 17%.

Looking at the Year-to-Date (YTD) figures for 2024, Mahindra saw continued success. Domestic sales increased by 9%, reaching 324,327 units, compared to 297,157 units in 2023. Exports also grew significantly by 28%, with 12,296 units sold in December 2024, compared to 9,585 units in December 2023.

Hemant Sikka, President of Mahindra's Farm Equipment Sector, commented on the performance, saying, “In December 2024, we sold 22,019 tractors in the domestic market, showing a growth of 22% compared to last year. The positive cash flow from the Kharif harvest and strong sowing for the Rabi season has driven demand for tractors. We are optimistic about continued growth in the tractor industry, driven by favorable agricultural conditions and good trade terms for farmers.”
