Tractors play a crucial role in the daily tasks performed by the farmers, making farming more efficient and manageable. These powerful machines help in various activities from sowing to transporting the produce to the market after harvesting. However, the high cost of tractors does pose a challenge for small and marginal farmers. In a bid to support farmers, the state government is offering a subsidy of up to Rs 1 lakh on the purchase of tractors, focusing on those with 45 HP and above. This is a final call for eligible farmers to seize this subsidy opportunity.

The state government has devised a plan to provide subsidies on tractors with 45 HP and above. The selection process involves the District Level Executive Committee conducted by the Deputy Commissioner. Once selected, farmers can negotiate with authorized tractor manufacturers to make their purchase. Registration for this scheme is available on the Agricultural Manufacturers Scheme's machine supply portal.
Different states provide varying subsidies for tractor purchases. For instance, in Madhya Pradesh, farmers enjoy up to a 50 percent subsidy, while Uttar Pradesh provides a grant of up to Rs 1 lakh. Similarly, Haryana offers a subsidy of Rs 1 lakh on tractor purchases, applicable to the cost price, with farmers responsible for GST and additional charges.
In Haryana, this subsidy is exclusively available to Scheduled Caste farmers. Farmers belonging to other categories cannot avail of this particular scheme.
Scheduled Caste farmers in Haryana seeking tractor subsidies must apply online. Before applying, farmers need to register on the Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal. The deadline for the application is March 11, 2024. For more information, farmers can contact the District Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department or call the toll-free number 1800-180-21117.
The subsidy disbursement involves a lottery-based draw after the application period. The District Level Executive Committee conducts an online draw to select beneficiaries. The selected farmers must purchase the tractor from an authorized manufacturer and upload the necessary documents, including bills and insurance, on the departmental portal. Physical verification of the tractor and documents is mandatory, followed by the submission of the verification report to the District Level Executive Committee. After directorate-level verification, farmers receive the subsidy through an e-voucher.
This subsidy opportunity marks a significant support system for farmers, making tractors more accessible and empowering them to enhance their agricultural practices. Eligible farmers should act swiftly to secure this financial aid for tractor purchases before the deadline of March 11, 2024.
The tractor subsidy initiative by the Haryana government stands as a crucial lifeline for Scheduled Caste farmers, providing them with a unique opportunity to overcome financial barriers and acquire essential agricultural machinery. With the application deadline approaching on March 11, 2024, eligible farmers are required to act promptly, ensuring that they don't miss their last chance to avail the substantial Rs 1 lakh subsidy on tractor purchases. This initiative reflects a commitment to fostering agricultural development and empowering farmers in their crucial role in ensuring food security.
