Dr. Lakshmi Venu, Director at TAFE – Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited, one of the world’s largest tractor manufacturers, has been appointed as the Vice Chairman of the company. She is recognized for her leadership in farm mechanization and the auto component sector.
Her strategic vision, customer-focused approach, dedication to quality, and active role in TAFE’s Massey Ferguson and Eicher Tractors divisions demonstrate her commitment to innovation and excellence. In light of her accomplishments, Dr. Lakshmi has been promoted to Vice Chairman of TAFE’s Board.

Dr. Lakshmi’s remarkable achievements include being named one of Business Today’s “Most Powerful Women in Business” in 2023 and receiving The Economic Times “Young Leaders – 40 under 40” award. She also serves as Managing Director of Sundaram-Clayton Ltd., a leading automotive component manufacturer. She holds a degree from Yale University and a Doctorate in Engineering Management from the University of Warwick, UK.
TAFE has long been committed to Total Quality Management (TQM). In recent years, its manufacturing plants have earned several ‘TPM Excellence’ awards from the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM), along with multiple regional awards for excellence.
