Relegare Agro Life Bio Science Private Limited, headquartered in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. The partnership was formalized on Thursday, March 21, bringing together the expertise from both entities to develop sustainable solutions for managing agricultural residue.
The MoU signing ceremony, led by Dr. S. K Shukla, Director of ICAR-CIRCOT, and Mr. G. T. Gadekar, Director of Relegare Agro Life Bio-Science, signals the beginning of joint efforts to address the challenges posed by agricultural waste. The primary focus will be on developing microbial inoculum for the in-situ degradation of agricultural waste, particularly targeting post-harvest sugarcane leaves.
Relegare Agro Life Bio-Science specializes in the production of bio-pesticides, bio-fertilizers, and bio-fungicides, with a commitment to adhering to international standards for manufacturing processes. Leveraging nanotechnology, the company aims to introduce innovative agricultural solutions to combat pests, diseases, and the adverse impacts of climate change on crops.
The significance of this partnership was highlighted by Dr. S. Sreenivasan, Former Director of ICAR-CIRCOT, and Dr. A. J. Shaikh, Former Director, Heads, Division, and Technology Innovators. Both emphasized the importance of fostering sustainable agricultural practices to address the environmental challenges faced by the farming community.
Established in 1924, ICAR-CIRCOT has been at the forefront of cotton technology research under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). With a rich history of pioneering research, the institute continues to lead in the development of innovative agricultural practices.
The partnership between ICAR-CIRCOT and Relegare Agro Life Bio-Science holds immense promise in addressing the critical issue of agricultural waste management.
