The Agricultural Drone Pilot Scheme trains 10th-pass students in drone operation, offering affordable training and subsidies for drone purchases.

Key Highlights

The government is introducing a new scheme aimed at enhancing modern farming techniques by training 10th-pass students to operate agricultural drones. This initiative is part of the Agricultural Drone Pilot Scheme, designed to promote the use of drones for efficient pesticide spraying and other farming tasks. Here’s everything you need to know about this training program and its benefits.

Benefits of Agricultural Drone Training

The use of agricultural drones allows for rapid and efficient pesticide application across large fields, which traditionally would take much longer if done manually. This modern approach to farming not only speeds up the process but also ensures better coverage and accuracy. By training young individuals to operate these drones, the government aims to boost income opportunities and encourage a new generation of tech-savvy farmers.

Training Fee and Subsidies

The training for agricultural drone operation is being conducted at Narendra Agricultural University, Jobner. The course spans 6 days and offers a comprehensive residential program for future drone pilots. The total fee for the training is Rs 50,000, but selected candidates will only need to pay Rs 9,300. This fee covers Rs 5,000 for the training itself and Rs 4,300 for accommodation and meals. The Agriculture Department and the University will each cover 50% of the remaining fee.

Eligibility Criteria for Drone Training

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for the agricultural drone pilot training, applicants must meet the following criteria:

How to Apply

Rajasthan residents interested in drone training can apply via the Raj Kisan Sathi Portal or the Raj Kisan Suvidha App. Applicants need to upload their 10th-grade mark sheet along with the application form. Those nominated by Agricultural Producer Organizations or Custom Hiring Centers must also upload a nomination certificate to receive priority consideration.

Government Subsidy for Drone Purchase

In addition to training, the government offers subsidies for purchasing agricultural drones. Farmers and custom hiring centers can receive up to 40% off the cost of drones. For example, a drone priced at Rs 10 lakh can be purchased for Rs 6 lakh, thanks to a Rs 4 lakh subsidy.

This initiative is set to revolutionize farming practices and provide new opportunities for young individuals interested in agricultural technology.
