Great news for paddy farmers in 2024! The government has given the green light to the Krishak Unnati Yojana. This scheme is here to support farmers who sold paddy at government centers in the Kharif year 2023. Approved by the govt means Rs 19,257 will be sent to these farmers accounts as input assistance for their paddy crops. That's a big boost for farmers, especially those with more than one acre of land.
Chhattisgarh's farmers are in for a treat with Krishak Unnati Yojana. The state Chief Minister, Vishnu Dev Sai, chaired the cabinet meeting where they decided to start this scheme in the Kharif season 2023-24. Farmers will get Rs 19,257 per acre based on the paddy they sold. The goal isn to increase the income of the farmer’s, boosting production of crops, and make farming more affordable.
If you've got more than one acre of land, you're in for a bigger share of the pie as the Krishak Unnati Yojana ensures that the larger farms get more support, keeping things fair and square.
Chhattisgarh's BJP government has been busy delivering on promises. They've already paid two years worth of bonus to paddy farmers, sanctioned 10 lakh PM houses, and now, Krishak Unnati Yojana is in the spotlight. Paddy farmers will receive a bonus of Rs 19,257 per acre, a big jump from the previous Rs 9,000 per acre under the Kisan Nyay Yojana by the Congress government.
The bonus will be sent straight to your account using the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. Krishak Unnati Yojana ensures that the bonus, on top of the support price, reaches you without any fuss.
In the 2023-24 marketing year, a whopping 24 lakh 72 thousand farmers in Chhattisgarh sold their paddy at government centers, totaling 144.92 lakh metric tonnes. Krishak Unnati Yojana is extending its helping hand to all these farmers, promising relief and prosperity.
Already, the state government has handed out Rs 31,913 crore to farmers for paddy purchases. On March 12, the pending bonus of around Rs 12 crore will be given, showing the government's dedication to supporting farmers.
Apart from Krishak Unnati Yojana, the cabinet meeting covered other essential matters. Sugar will be bought from cooperative sugar factories for the Public Distribution System (PDS) at Rs 35,000 per tonne from April 2024 to March 2025. The Rajiv Nagar Housing Scheme is now called Atal Vihar Yojana. Contractual employees get 30 days of casual leave, and compassionate appointment cases will be sorted quickly by district collectors and divisional commissioners. Higher education will follow the National Education Policy 2020, and the State Planning Commission is now the State Policy Commission, Chhattisgarh.
