Government Procurement Dates Announced

According to his tweet, mustard procurement at MSP will kickstart from March 26, 2024, while wheat procurement will begin on April 1. These centers are spread across several villages to ensure accessibility for farmers. Similarly, procurement centers have been set up in other districts as well, totaling 104 centers across the state. Mustard purchases will be conducted by the Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd (HAFED) for the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (NAFED).

MSP and Standards

The Central Government has set the MSP for mustard at Rs 5650 for the Rabi marketing season 2024, which is Rs 200 higher than the previous season. This rate will be offered to farmers for their mustard crops. Additionally, the moisture content of mustard has been standardized at 8 percent for procurement. Farmers are advised to ensure proper drying of their mustard crops before sale to avoid price discrepancies.
