Farmer ID is now essential for PM Kisan Yojana benefits in Madhya Pradesh, ensuring targeted assistance and easier access to welfare schemes.
The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a vital government initiative providing financial aid to farmers across India. Starting now, to continue receiving these benefits, farmers in Madhya Pradesh will need to create a unique Farmer ID. This update aims to ensure that only eligible farmers can access these benefits, making the distribution process transparent and straightforward.
The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, launched by the Government of India on February 24, 2019, supports small and marginal farmers. Eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually, directly transferred to their bank accounts. This financial aid helps farmers manage agricultural expenses and supports their livelihood. So far, 18 installments have been released, with the 19th installment expected in December.
The Madhya Pradesh government is introducing a unique digital ID for each farmer, called the "Farmer ID" or "Kisan ID." This ID will work like an Aadhaar card for farmers, making it easier to confirm eligibility for welfare schemes, including the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. From December onward, only farmers with a Farmer ID will receive benefits from PM-KISAN. This digital Farmer ID will contain personal information, land ownership details, production information, and financial data related to each farmer. This initiative is part of the government’s Agristack program, a digital platform created to support farmers.
Farmers in Madhya Pradesh can create their Farmer ID by November 30, 2024. Farmers can register at Citizen Facilitation Centers (CSC), with a Patwari, at cooperative societies, or at PDS shops. To apply, farmers need their Aadhaar card, Samagra ID, a land ownership document (Khasra/Khatauni), and a registered mobile number.

Agristack is a digital program aiming to modernize Indian agriculture by connecting farmers to real-time data and support services. With Agristack, farmers can access resources like weather forecasts, soil data, and market prices. It also offers financial services, including loans and insurance, which help increase their income. Agristack is also expected to help smaller farmers who might not have access to advanced farming tools or loans.
The Farmer ID is a critical update for farmers in Madhya Pradesh. It not only ensures access to the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana but also connects them to other welfare schemes, creating a more inclusive support system for the farming community.
